What is an ecological survey?
EXPERTISE:
An ecological survey involves surveying an area to determine what plants, animals and communities exist in that area. Our friendly consultants can conduct surveys of proposed development or project sites which can be used to help your project meet State and Federal legislative compliance.
What are ecological surveys used for?
EXPERTISE:
The information collected from a survey provides relevant authorities with important information about the environmental values of the site and helps them understand the potential impacts of changes in land use. From this information the authorities can impose management conditions or propose changes to the development to maintain those values into the future.
When do you need an ecological surveys?
EXPERTISE:
When developing land, it is often condition of Local, State and Federal Governments that an ecological survey be included with a development application.
We can help to plainly explain any development conditions and provide surveys in a format which meets all of the relevant conditions, recommend actions and if possible, results in minimal impact to the environment, giving your development application the greatest chance of approval.
Our expertise is demonstrated by the fact that we maintain well-established relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers, as well as sit on various state and national working groups. While our experience extends to all forms of ecological surveying and planning, we are leaders in conducting surveys and preparing management plans for Western Ringtail Possums and all species of Black Cockatoos which are present in the Southwest of Western Australia.
